Man Incarcerated After Evading Arrest
A local man was incarcerated during the weekend after attempting to flee from police officers who came to his home to serve a warrant.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report that they had gone to the South Hood Road home shortly after 11:00 p.m. Saturday to serve a violation of probation warrant on twenty-three year old Chazton Joey Joiner.
Joiner told deputies he needed to get some clothes from a gym bag in his girlfriend’s truck. The reporting deputy indicates that he spoke with Joiner’s parents while watching him retrieve the clothing. He said that Joiner fled behind the house and into a wooded area.
Joiner was later located behind the residence. He was arrested on charges of evading arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center for incarceration.
