Subject: May Day Transmitted/ Firefighters Injured

At approximately 6:22 PM our firefighters were actively working to extinguish a fire in a residential structure near 121 Redhill Center Road when a May Day Emergency was transmitted. A crew of three firefighters became trapped when a collapse of the structure occurred bringing debris and heavy fire on top of the firefighters.

The firefighters became separated as a result of the collapse. One firefighter was able to find the doorway and self extricate. The other two firefighters were located and extracted out a window of the home by three of our firefighters.

The firefighters did sustain non life threatening injuries. The firefighters are currently being treated at Southern Tennessee Hospital in Lawrenceburg. Units remain on the scene working to extinguish the fire. We will release more information as it comes available.
