Maury County Fire Department was dispatched on Wednesday night for a Swift Water rescue after a vehicle was swept downstream with two occupants inside.

The Maury County Fire Department released the following photos and information on Wednesday night:

"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Maury County Fire Department was dispatched to 2411 Rally Hill Road in Columbia tonight for a swift water rescue incident.

Two victims were swept downstream in their vehicle by a creek flooding the roadway. Mutual aid was requested and multiple surrounding agencies responded including Franklin, Columbia, and Spring Hill fire. Departments on scene combined resources and manpower in dangerous conditions to perform a successful rescue.

Both victims were transported and treated for hypothermia.

The incredible teamwork showed tonight by first responders across agencies was integral to the success of this dangerous rescue.

Personnel battled near freezing temperatures, rising swift water and cold rain while smoothly conducting the rescue operation. Several firefighters were treated on scene for hypothermia. We appreciate the assistance from Maury Regional EMS and Williamson County EMS that provided a total of four ambulances.
