Walkers Stumble Across Meth Lab
Law enforcement officials dismantled yet another meth lab Saturday after two residents stumbled across it while walking.
Information issued through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department indicates that the residents were walking in the area of Kelly Road in Leoma when they noticed a black bag lying in a wooded area near the roadway.
They quickly went to inspect the bag and realized that the items inside were components commonly utilized in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
The couple notified authorities of the find and deputies and drug agents responded to the scene, along with Sheriff Jimmy Brown. The lab was safely dismantled, the items removed from the scene and disposed of.
The matter currently remains under investigation.
