There is an ongoing hostage situation taking place at a Synagogue in Texas where the Rabbi was livestreaming a service when a male suspect came in making demands.

According to reports armed police officers and F.B.I. negotiators surrounded a synagogue Saturday in the Dallas-Fort Worth Texas area around 10:41 a.m. in regards to a hostage situation.

The congregation had been holding a scheduled Sabbath service at 10:00 a.m. where they was livestreaming on their Facebook page when a man could be heard shouting, and asking to get his sister on the phone before the livestream stopped.

The male suspect is claiming to be the brother of Pakistani neuroscientist Aafia Siddiqui, who was convicted in Manhattan Federal Court in 2010 of trying to kill US authorities in Afghanistan.

She is currently serving an 86-year prison sentence at the Federal Medical Center, Carswell, in nearby Fort Worth, according to public records.

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, said President Biden had been briefed on “the developing hostage situation” in Colleyville.

The Colleyville police Department stated that F.B.I. crisis negotiators were in communication with the man, and that around 5:00 p.m. they convinced the suspect to release a hostage.

One male hostage was released uninjured, and does not require any medical medical attention.

This is an ongoing hostage situation where 3 hostages including the Rabbi are still inside at this time with no reports of any injuries.
