A school system in Tennessee announced it would be closing its schools for the rest of the week.

Perry County Schools said its schools would be closed Thursday and Friday due to illness.

However, the basketball game scheduled for Friday is still set to happen.

The Perry County Schools Director of Schools, Eric Lomax, shared this statement with WSMV on the closure:

"We are seeing students testing positive for the Flu. We had 14 percent of our students out today with illness and we had several staff members out today also.”
