Lawrence County firefighters responded to a structure fire Monday morning after passerby notices flames coming from a home.

 

Lawrence County Fire and Rescue released the following information and photos:

Shortly before 10:00 AM this morning Lawrence County Fire Rescue Units were dispatched to a residential structure in the Crossroads Fire District. Even with poor road conditions LCFR units arrived on scene within 6 minutes call being dispatched.

First arriving units reports flames and smoke visible from the exterior. An aggressive interior attack was initiated and a primary search for victims. The fire was contained to one room of the home with some extension into the roof line.

A host of LCFR members from neighboring stations responded to the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

We want to thank the passerby who noticed the flames outside the home and made the 911 call for help. The quick actions of the caller made the fire much more manageable."
