Firefighters Help Residents Salvage Some Belongings Before Home Is Destroyed
Firefighters responding to a call on Marable Road Monday were able to help the residents salvage part of their belongings before the home was consumed by fire.
Officials with New Prospect Fire Department report that members, along with members of the Crossroads, Leoma and Crawfish Valley Fire Departments, responded to 1203 Marable Road shortly after 1:00 p.m. Upon their arrival, they report that heavy smoke was emanating from the structure and that fire was visible.
Firefighters were able to hold back the flames while they assisted the residents in retrieving some valuables. Ultimately, however, the home was destroyed.
Officials indicate that at the current time investigation is continuing to pinpoint the exact cause of the blaze.
