Five year old taken to hospital after falling into pool in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, Tenn. (WHNT) — A child is in the hospital after falling into a pool Thursday night, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

LCSO said around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an incident in the southern part of the county where a five-year-old child had fallen into a swimming pool.

The sheriff’s office said deputies arrived on the scene and began administering life-saving measures until EMS and other first responders arrived.

LCSO said the child was taken to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

The sheriff’s office asked that the community keep the child and the family in their thoughts and prayers.

Officials said no further information is being released at this time out of respect for the family’s privacy.
