Passersby Report Suspicious Person At Structure Fire
Passersby who called to report a structure fire in Loretto early Thursday morning mentioned seeing a suspicious person standing nearby.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to 826 Clax Branch Road at 12:45 a.m.
The witnesses reported they had been driving past when they noticed a fire at the house. They said that they had seen a man standing nearby, but when he saw them he ran into a wooded area behind the house. They described him as a white male wearing a black jacket and toboggan.
Owners reported that the structure had been vacant since it was damaged by a falling tree limb in 2008. Loss was estimated to be $5,000.
