Subject: Motor Vehicle Injury Crash

Shortly after 10:00PM on January 4th,2026 Lawrence County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle injury crash with a vehicle on fire in the New Prospect Fire District. Initial dispatch information indicated there were 6 total patients involved.
The callers were unsure if there were still patients trapped inside the burning vehicle. Due to the scene being in such close proximity to their station we requested that Lawrenceburg Fire Department respond an engine company to assist. First arriving units reported a vehicle off the roadway in a wooded area with heavy fire involvement.
They were able to confirm that all patients were out of the vehicle. Personnel on the scene extinguished the burning vehicle and fire spread in the wooded area. The crews also assisted Lawrence County EMS units with providing patient care. Additional LCFR units established safe landing zones nearby for two air medical helicopters that responded to transport the seriously injured patients to a level one trauma center. Other patients were treated and transported by Lawrence County EMS.
The crash is being investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
We are grateful for the immediate response and assistance from our mutual aid partners at the Lawrenceburg Fire Department.
