Community Academy Launched

In November Lawrence County Schools launched a new communication initiative called Community Academy to engage & inform members of Lawrence County with the ins and outs of our distinguished school system.

Two separate cohort groups consists of parents, business men and women, and media and government representatives.

Once a month for five months the groups will meet to learn about topics such as the Strategic Plan of LCSS, Curriculum & Extra Curricular Activities, and several different topics throughout the year.

Communications Director, Shannon Watson explains, "Community Academy is a project that we plan to implement each school year.

The feedback from participants so far has been very positive and encouraging. We have representatives from northern, southern, and middle Lawrence County therefore well-rounded input can be received."
