Lawrenceburg Main Street Recently Named Recipient Of One Of Ten CDBG Commercial Façade Grants

Press release

Lawrenceburg Main Street was recently named as the recipient of one of ten CDBG Commercial Façade grants awarded in the state of Tennessee.

The Commercial Façade Program was developed by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development in an effort to assist communities with aesthetic improvements to their business districts.

With the inaugural program announcement, Lawrenceburg Main Street was awarded $25, 000 for exterior aesthetic improvements on businesses located in the historic downtown business district.

Main Street board members developed design guidelines, reached out to business owners, and documented areas of greatest need.

Executive Director April Judkins also held multiple meetings with business owners to gain feedback, gauge interest, and better understand what the business owners’ top priorities are.

Eligible businesses, which successfully apply and are selected by a committee, will be eligible for up to 75% of their renovation costs paid for through the grant.

The visual impact of this type of effort is often a catalyst of increased investment throughout downtown.

The mission of Lawrenceburg Main Street is to revitalize the economy, enhance the historical charm, and protect the architectural integrity of the downtown Lawrenceburg business district.
