Thursday Crime Report

Theft

Deputies were dispatched Wednesday to a Weakley Creek Road home where the resident reported someone had stolen a number of 2x4s from her storage building. She told deputies that the culprit had apparently attempted to gain entry into her residence, as well. The door lock was damaged, however it appeared that no entry had been made. Loss and damages totaled in excess of $200.

Theft

A local resident stopped by the sheriff’s department on Wednesday to report that a number of tools had been stolen out of his Ford F250 truck while it was at Busy Bee Auction on Tuesday. The tools, with an estimated value of around $50, were stolen from a tool box on the back of the truck. The victim reported that the box had been left unsecured at the time.

Theft

A Five Points man reported to deputies Wednesday that his Polaris Sportsman 800 ATV had been stolen from his shop on Five Points Road. He told deputies that it had been parked beneath a canopy at the shop for repair work. The ATV is valued at $6,000.

Burglary

Deputies spoke with a Fall River Road resident Wednesday who reported someone had burglarized his outbuilding, stealing several items. Deputies found no signs of forced entry. The owner said he had forgotten to secure the lock. Taken were items of camping equipment, a generator, and power tools with a combined value in excess of $9,000.

Theft

A resident reported to deputies Monday that someone had entered his vehicle while he was at Dairy Queen, stealing several items. Missing were two pairs of Oakley sunglasses, a backpack, Bluetooth speaker, allergy medication, iPhone charger, knives, and other assorted items. Loss totaled nearly $1,000.

Attempted burglary

A resident of Carter Road reported to deputies Monday that someone had removed a window screen from his home and tried to kick in his back door. Deputies noted that no entry was made to the residence. A window was broken out of a door of an outbuilding. Deputies report it appeared the culprit made entry, then opened a locked back door to exit. Nothing appeared to be missing. Damages were reported at $265.
