New Numbers Painted On Stolen City-Issued Trash Cart

A trash cart that had been stolen from one Sixth Street home overnight Monday turned up at a neighbor’s home with freshly-painted numbers.

A Sixth Street resident reported the matter to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department shortly after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. She reported that she owns the property at 511 Sixth Street.

She said that during the night someone had dumped the contents of the city-issued trash cart onto the ground and took it.

The cart turned up at an adjacent property with that house number freshly painted on it. Officers report finding a can of white spray paint sitting on the porch next to the trash cart. The occupant told officers he had no knowledge of the incident.
