Charges Result From Report Of Possible Drug Sales

Charges were issued against a local man Friday evening after authorities received information regarding possible drug sales in the parking lot of a Lawrenceburg motel.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched to investigate at around 10:45 p.m. They report speaking with two men who were standing in the parking lot. They assured officers that they had nothing illegal on their persons and agreed to allow a search of their room.

When they entered the room, officers report that Robert Grady Oliver, Jr., 21, of 103 Jackson Street was sitting on the bed. A search was conducted during which officers report finding a meth pipe and plastic baggie in the nightstand drawer. When they asked to whom the items belonged, officers report that Oliver said that “his prints were probably on the baggie.”

Oliver was issued a citation charging him with the crime of possession of drug paraphernalia. He will be required to appear in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on November 7, 2013.
