Lieutenant Nathan Neese Graduates From FBI National Academy

On September 20th, 2013, Lieutenant Nathan Neese of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. 

Nathan L. Neese is a longtime employee of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Middle Tennessee State University and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati.

He began his career in 1999 with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff. He also served as the first SRO at Lawrence County High School.

Nathan L. Neese was promoted to the Lieutenant of the Criminal Investigation Division in 2010. Throughout his career, he has earned the reputation as being a tenacious, efficient and professional law enforcement officer.
               
Earlier this year, Nathan Neese was nominated by his peers and accepted to the FBI National Academy.

Admission to the Academy is an achievement in itself due to the stringent requirements which must be met my each applicant. Applicants must be in excellent physical condition and be proficient in the use of firearms and defensive tactics. 

Applicants must also possess an excellent character and have the respect of fellow law enforcement officers.  Most importantly, applicants must exhibit qualities of leadership.

The FBI National Academy is a ten week professional course of study for U.S. and international law enforcement leaders.

The purpose is to improve the administration of justice in police departments and agencies at home and abroad, and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation, worldwide. 

Its mission is “to support, promote, and enhance the personal and professional development of law enforcement leaders by preparing them for complex, dynamic, and contemporary challenges through innovative techniques, facilitating excellence in education and research, and forging partnerships throughout the world.”

With his graduation, Nathan Neese brings a wealth of knowledge and insight back to Lawrence County and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.

His graduation sets a great example for his fellow employees by exhibiting the importance of furthering one’s knowledge and education. 

At Tuesday's Regular Session Meeting of the County Commission, Commissioner Chris D. Jackson will have a resolution recognizing Neese's achievements.
