Lawrence County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a female suspect at Dollar General with a gun in her hand that resulted in Leoma Elementary School being put on lock down.

 

 

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office was dispatched on Wednesday morning to the Dollar General in Leoma in reference to a female suspect inside the store with a gun in her hand.

According to reports the suspect identified as Summer Ritch, lived nearby the Dollar General, and had came onto the property with a gun in her hand.

Ritch then walked around inside the store with the gun in her hand reportedly yelling that she was there to kill the dogs before walking back outside to look for the dogs.

While Deputies responded to the incident Leoma Elementary school was temporarly put on lockdown as a precaution until the situation was resolved.

Deputies arrested Ritch on charges of aggraviated assualt where she was transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
