Lawrence County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a local store for a welfare check that turned into a drug arrest.

 

Reports indicate that last week the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to Self Market on Waynesboro Highway in reference to a suspicious individual in a red Chevrolet s10 truck.

Upon arrival the deputy was able to locate the individual who was identified as 43 year old Jay Gross of Lawrenceburg who appeared to be under the influence of a possible narcotic.

While speaking with the suspect a baggy containing a white substance could be seen in plain view of the Deputy, and a search was conducted once consent was given.

Multiple baggies, 3 scales, and approximately 1.1 grams of a white substance was discovered during the search.

Gross was arrested on charges of unlawful drug paraphernalia, and possession of a schedule II.
