Authorities are waiting to receive the results from blood tests to decide whether a local woman will face charges in the wake of an automobile crash.Reports from the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that officers were dispatched at around 6:15 p.m

. Friday to the 1200 block of Fall River Road to investigate a crash that involved injuries. They arrived to find that one of the vehicles was upside down and both drivers were trapped inside their automobiles.

Both drivers were extricated and transported for medical care at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Lawrenceburg. A concerned motorist had placed a 911 call around fifteen minutes prior to the crash to report a possible drunk driver.

The driver was traveling in a gray Dodge Ram van. A search of the area was undertaken, however they were unable to locate the van at that time. Officers arriving on the scene noticed that one of the vehicles involved in the crash was a gray 1991 Dodge Ram 3500 box van.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 2016 Kia Sorento, who is 67 and lives on Rayfield Drive, told officers she had been driving west along Fall River Road when the other driver’s vehicle crossed the center line and hit her, causing her vehicle to flip over.

When officers spoke with the driver of the van, a forty-one year old resident of Perry Street in Lawrenceburg, she said that she had no idea what had happened. Officers were able to make contact with the witness who had placed the call just before the crash.

He reported that he had noticed the van’s driver acting as if they were under the influence of some sort of intoxicant. He told officers that he had noticed that the van had two green monster stickers on the rear window

. He viewed photographs taken of the van involved in the crash and assured them that it was, in fact, the van that he had noticed earlier. Currently detectives are continuing to investigate the crash while they await results from blood tests that were taken. Once they receive the results they will review them and determine whether the driver will face charges.
