Thursday Crime Report

Theft

   A local woman reported to deputies Wednesday that her wallet had been stolen, likely while she was shopping for groceries. She said that she had shopped at Walmart then loaded her groceries into her vehicle and drove home. She later realized she no longer had her wallet. She told deputies that she contact store officials, but that no one had dropped off the wallet at Loss Prevention.

Car burglary

   A Valley Road resident reported to deputies Wednesday that someone had illegally entered her vehicle and stole her cell phone. The crime reportedly occurred overnight Monday. She said that she went to the AT&T store and they were able to track the phone to a residence on Mattoxtown Road. Deputies report they went to the address, but were unable to make contact with residents at that time. Loss is approximately $600.

Vandalism

   Officers were called to a home on Jackson Street Tuesday after a resident discovered damage to her 2006 Mazda. Reports show that someone had attempted to start the vehicle by forcing a foreign object into the ignition. Missing were two compact disc notebooks containing approximately 75 CDs. Loss and damages totaled nearly $900.
