The Lawrenceburg police department was dispatched to McDonald's on North Locust Avenue with reports of fraud after a woman was attempting to purchase breakfast with counterfeit money.

Upon arrival officers were led to the restaurant's dinning area by management where the older woman who attempted to buy breakfast with the counterfeit $20 was sitting.

The female subject told officers that she had received the counterfeit money after she sold a Craftsman tiller to a man in Clarksville, Tennessee, and stated that she was unaware that the money was counterfeit.

Officers reported the female subject was able to identify the man who she sold the tiller to, and then was given the Clarksville police department's information if she wanted to file a report regarding the loss.

The Lawrenceburg police department seized $380 of counterfeit US currency at the scene, and put in a request for surveillance footage of where the transaction occured.
