Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched to intervene in the domestic altercation at the 225 Plummer Street home at 4:44 a.m. When they arrived, officers report they could see the man and woman inside, arguing.

Once they were inside the home, officers report the couple was separated. The wife, age 39, told officers her husband had grabbed her wrist when she tried to call the police. They noted that she had sustained redness to one wrist. In addition, she showed them a hole in the wall where she said he had thrown a knife at her. Officers report finding a large butcher knife lying on the floor.

The wife told officers that her husband had tried to get his dog to fight her dog during the altercation. She said he also made threats to kill her, placing her in fear for her life.

Officers noted that the man, Timothy Travis Jenkins, age 43, of 5 Sanders Street, had an odor of an alcoholic beverage about him. As a result of the investigation he was placed under arrest on one count of aggravated domestic assault. He was transported to the Lawrence County Jail and booked without incident.

Jenkins is scheduled for an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on October 1, 2010.
