A Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper managed to arrest an intoxicated man after being dragged approximately 20 yards by the suspects vehicle.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol on Saturday trooper Kristopher Krasnow was dispatched near the Davidson County line on I-24 in reference to a possible medical call.

Upon arrival Krasnow noticed a Toyota Prius sitting in the HOV lane with the driver of the vehicle slumped over the steering wheel, and the trooper parked his patrol car in front of the Prius in case the driver tried to flee.

Trooper Krasnow stated the driver who was identified as Robert Singleton, 28, of Nashville, was unresponsive to the trooper's attempts to wake him, and the trooper could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Singleton.

Eventually the trooper was able to wake Singleton who immediately began yelling several obscenities, and attempted to flee the scene hitting the patrol vehicle's push bumber before putting the vehicle in reverse all while the trooper was in the door of the vehicle giving Singleton commands to stop.

Singleton continued his attempt to flee by backing up his vehicle, and dragging trooper Krasnow approximately 20 yards before hitting another vehicle that was stopped where the trooper was then able to put the vehicle in park.

Multiple units reponded with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Rutherford County Sheriffs office, and Nashville Metro Police department to help assist.

Singleton was placed under arrest on charges of DUI, and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.

Trooper Krasnow received minor injuries from the incident where he was transported to Saint Thomas ER, and was released shortly after.
