Preliminary Report Indicates Death Resulted From Drowning

Law enforcement officials indicate that preliminary autopsy reports show that a Lawrenceburg woman found floating face-down in a small lake in early August, died as the result of drowning.

The body of Hyon Su Chon Kilburn, 52, of 19 Adkins Lane, Lawrenceburg, was discovered by search team members in the wake of a missing persons search conducted on August 5 and 6.

Kilburn’s son had reported her missing after friends and family members had not seen her for around thirty-six hours.

The search ultimately ended when Kilburn’s body was found in a small lake situated in a wooded area near 14 Grinnell Drive.

Following her death, Kilburn’s body was dispatched to Nashville for autopsy. Authorities indicated the death would be investigated as a homicide until foul play had been ruled out.

Preliminary autopsy reports, they say, indicate that Kilburn did, in fact, die as a result of drowning. The examination revealed there was no sign of blunt force trauma anywhere on Kilburn’s body.

At this point investigation into Kilburn’s death is still on-going, as officials await the results of toxicology tests.
