Driver Strikes Resident With Vehicle

   A Summertown woman who was struck by a vehicle early Sunday told law enforcement officials that she felt certain that the driver had not intended to hit her.

   The victim, a nineteen-ear-old resident of Oak Street, told Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies that the incident had occurred around 5:00 a.m.

   According to the victim she had walked from her home to the roadway to talk after an ex-boyfriend had stopped there. She told deputies that he had not wished to talk and drove off, striking her with his vehicle.

   The victim told officers she was sure it had been an accident, and that he had not meant to harm her.

   The matter remains under investigation at the present time. Reports show that the victim sustained no serious injuries.
