Citizens Asked To Be On Lookout For Suspicious Vehicle

Local law enforcement authorities have issued a plea, requesting that residents be on the lookout for a suspect vehicle identified in connection with recent crime events.

The same vehicle description was given in connection with a number of recent burglary incidents, including one reported at a Mattoxtown Road home late last week.

The resident told Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies Friday that he went to his garage to retrieve his weed eater only to discover it was missing. Also missing was the victim’s chain saw.

While checking about, the victim found that the culprit had also ripped the radio from his truck, causing damages to the face plate and dashboard.

According to the victim both the garage and truck had been left unsecured. He indicated that the crime occurred sometime between August 4 and August 8.

Officials with the sheriff’s department are requesting that residents report any sightings of a suspicious truck, dark or black in color, with tinted windows. You may report such a sighting by contacting the sheriff’s department at 762-3626, or by calling the non-emergency number at Lawrence Central Dispatch at 762-0450.
