Resident Reports Teen Invaded Home With Pellet Pistol

Law enforcement officers were summoned to investigate Sunday afternoon when a Genson Road resident reported a teen had entered her home uninvited, armed with a pellet pistol.

The victim, age 72, told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that she and her husband had both been at home when the incident occurred.

She indicated that a teen boy who looked to be around 14 years of age entered her home wielding the pistol. She reported that the boy ordered her to the ground while pointing the weapon at her.

The victim told deputies that she did not comply. Instead, she said she grabbed the gun out of his hand. She reported that he then left her home on foot.

Deputies were able to locate the boy, age 15, at his home along the same roadway, and transported him back to the scene. The resident was then able to make a positive identification.

A notice was made to officials with the Department of Children’s Services. No charges had been placed when reports were filed. Investigation into the matter is on-going.
