Fire Destroys Ethridge Home

A fire that claimed an Ethridge home in the early hours Friday is under investigation by local and state officials and is being described as “suspicious” in nature.

Emergency personnel received the call out to the unoccupied West High Street home shortly after midnight. Officials report the electric service line to the home was burning upon their arrival, as was the electric line along the street. Moments after their arrival, officials report that a transformer on the power pole exploded. No injuries were reported to have resulted from the explosion.

Officials report the structure, valued at an estimated $150,000, was a complete loss.

Shortly after the fire was extinguished an investigation was initiated by Fire Inspector Shayne Adams with the Lawrenceburg Fire Department. Adams has been joined in the investigation by officials with the Tennessee Fire Marshall’s Office.
