Cost Share Dollars Available To Farmers

Farmers across the state have until the end of the month to apply for Cost Share Dollars, made available to help diversify Tennessee’s agricultural endeavors.

The goal of the Cost Share Program is to build farm income by helping farmers expand or improve their operations through production of diversified agricultural products, including agri-tourism, aqua culture, bees, fruits and vegetables, horticulture, goats and sheep, organics, value-added products, viti culture, and others, as approved by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.

Farmers are able to apply for reimbursement at a 35% cost share, up to $10,000, for farm infrastructure, specialty equipment purchases, and marketing activities, as well as for 50% cost share, up to $15,000, for investments in priority areas, including agri-tourism, goats and sheep, organics and specified varieties of grapes.

For additional information call 615-837-5346. The deadline for applications is August 31.
