Resident Reports Theft From Cemetery
A local resident reported to authorities Wednesday that someone had stolen items that she had placed at the grave site of her parents.
The resident of Durham Road reported to Lawrenceburg Police Officers that the theft took placed sometime between July 10 and August 5. She indicated that she had purchased two concrete flower urns and placed them on either side of the headstone marking the graves of her parents. Each was then filled with flowers.
She told officers that she had last seen the items at the grave, located inside Bumpas Cemetery on Bumpas Road, on July 10. She indicated that the theft has resulted in a personal loss of approximately $80.
The matter remains under investigation currently through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
