WLX Launches New Station

Roger Wright, owner/operator of WLX Radio Station announced this week the launching of a new endeavor involving a different venue of music.

For years WLX has provided for listeners the latest in Country Music, as well as Classic Country hits. Wright has now launched a new station – “Classic Hits WLX.” The new station seeks to provide listeners with a new source of Classic Rock hits spanning from the 1970s through the 1990s.

“Broadcasting in Lawrenceburg on FM 105.3 and AM 590, and in Pulaski on 100.9, the majority of radio listeners in Lawrence and Giles County shouldn’t have a problem hearing the new station,” Wright explained. “While keeping our Country format ‘as is’ on 97.5, we wanted to expand to an entirely different listening audience who liked this kind of music. Artists expected to be heard on the new station include Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Bob Seger and the Sliver Bullet Band, and many others.”

Wright continued, “What really sets this station apart is that we want to play what our listeners want to hear.”

Listeners wishing to request that a certain song be played may do so via the internet. “All anyone has to do is simply e-mail their request to classichits@wlxonline.com and we’ll get it on within the hour,” Wright pointed out.

A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house has been set for 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, at the WLX Studios located at 1212 North Locust Avenue. Everyone is invited to attend.
