21 people killed and over a dozen injured in violent mass shooting at an El Paso Texas Walmart.

 

According to El Paso Police department the number has risen from 20 to 21 confirmed dead after a victim of the mass shooting died at the hospital Monday morning.

The horrific mass shooting accured on Saturday at an El Paso Texas Walmart that is near a shopping mall parking lot located 5 miles from the main border where authorities have identified the white male shooter who opened fire inside the store as Patrick Crusius, 21.

Upon arrival police were able to capture Crusius who surrendered to authorities, and according to the El Paso police Chief Greg Allen Crusius' weapon was purchased legally.

The U.S. Attorney John Bash spoke on the investigation where he said they will pursue a civil rights hate crime investigation and "domestic terrorism" charges where they will seek the "death penalty" against the suspect.

Following the mass shooting Walmart released a statement saying, "We are in shock over the tragic events at the Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso, where Walmart store #2201 and Sam’s Club #6502 are located. We’re praying for the victims, the community and our associates, as well as the first responders who are on the scene. We’re working closely with law enforcement and will update as appropriate."

Within a few hours following the shooting at the El Paso Walmart there was another mass shooting across the country in Dayton, Ohio where local police confirmed that 9 people were killed by a gunman who was shot to death by responding officers.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, spoke on the tragedies on Monday where he began by saying, “In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy, Hatred warps the mind, ravages the heart and devours the soul.”

The President also spoke on mental illness by saying,“Mental illness and hatred pull the trigger. Not the gun,” and condemned the “two evil attacks” and vowed to act “with urgent resolve."
