Suspects Disarmed And Arrested During Wednesday Drug Operation

   Three individuals were disarmed and apprehended by local drug agents in the wake of an operation that took place at a home at 7 Grinnell Drive Wednesday.

   The operation was conducted jointly through the Crime Suppression Unit of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and the Lawrenceburg Police Department. The group executed a search warrant for the premises in the wake of an on-going investigation. During the search agents report seizing contraband that included:  approximately 12 grams of crystal methamphetamine, four bags of marijuana packaged for resale, eight marijuana plants, numerous pills in unmarked pill bottles, two sets of digital scales, three pipes, a pack of rolling paper, numerous baggies, and $3,806 in cash as well as numerous items believed to have been obtained as the result of illegal drug transactions.

   The three suspects, Mark Surratt, Alana Jacobs and Randy Cox, were searched subsequent to arrest. Agents report that a small .22 caliber revolver loaded with six rounds was seized from Suratt’s front pocket, while a loaded two-shot pistol was seized off Cox’s person. Also, agents report that 4 Xanax pills and one Lortab were located inside the glove box of Cox’s vehicle.

   All three suspects were transported to the Lawrence County Jail without incident. There, Suratt was booked under charges of:  possession of Schedule II narcotics (meth) for the purpose of resale, possession of Schedule IV narcotics (Xanax) for the purpose of resale, possession of Schedule II narcotics (Percocet), possession of marijuana for the purpose of resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of or attempted commission of a dangerous felony, manufacture of marijuana, and possession of Schedule III narcotics for the purpose of resale.

   Jacobs was booked under charges of possession of Schedule II narcotics (meth) for the purpose of resale, possession of Schedue II narcotics (Percocet), possession of Schedule IV narcotics (Xanax) for the purpose of resale, possession of marijuana for the purpose of resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture of marijuana, and possession of Schedule III narcotics.

   Cox was booked under charges of possession of Schedule IV narcotics (Xanax), possession of Schedule III narcotics (Lortab), and unlawful possession of a weapon.
