Man Garners Charges For Beating Girlfriend, Escaping From Custody
A Lawrenceburg man who had been arrested for 
beating his girlfriend and her son Tuesday, garnered even more charges when he escaped custody and led officers on a foot chase.
Lawrenceburg Police Chief Judy Moore issued a press release Wednesday, indicating that officers with her department were dispatched to a Beckham Avenue home to intervene in a domestic dispute.
Moore reports that the victim, Stacey Hancock, 33, and her thirteen year old son reported they were assaulted by Jason Matthew Judkins. Hancock was transported to Crockett Hospital for treatment for “sever bruising and trauma to the face area.” Hancock received treatment for her wounds and was later released from the facility.
Officers report that Judkins had pulled wires loose beneath the hood and used a knife to cut all four tires on Hancock’s 2000 Isuzu truck. This caused a cut to his right hand that required medical attention, as well.
Judkins was transported to Crockett Hospital where he received treatment. As they were exiting the ER, officers report that Judkins broke loose from the and fled. A short foot chase ensued, and reports show that Judkins was recaptured a short distance away.
While they were attempting to bring Judkins back into custody, officers indicate that he began to resist, then struggled with them. Once they were able to gain control, officers transported Judkins to the Lawrence County Detention Center.
Judkins was booked under two counts of domestic vandalism, aggravated domestic assault, domestic assault, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The drug charges were added after marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found during a search of the home.
Judkins was jailed under a bond of $107,000. He is slated to answer the charges against him through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on September 1, 2011.
