Pressure Washer Stolen While Resident Cools Down

A Five Points man who took a break in Monday’s heat, heading inside to cool down, returned to his task to discover his pressure washer had been stolen.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department answered the 3:04 p.m. call to 121 Five Points Road, Five Points where they spoke with resident Peter Jackson.

Jackson reported he had been outdoors working on his septic tank, stopping and heading indoors to cool down and rest. While inside, he said he dozed off briefly.

While he was sleeping, Jackson’s daughter reported that a silver Ford Windstar van stopped outside their home and a white male approximately 40 years of age exited and approached the home. She said that he knocked lightly a few times, but that she was afraid to answer. She told deputies that the man walked around the house, then left after a few minutes. She indicated that a blonde female was driving the van and that there was a large sticker in the back window.

Once the man had left, the daughter awakened her father. She explained what had transpired and he headed outside to check about the property. He told deputies that his pressure washer had been stolen, but that nothing else appeared to have been touched.

The case has been turned over for further investigation by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Jackson’s loss is estimated to be $200.
