Ethridge police department was dispatched to a Dollar General with reports of 3 suspects attempting to use counterfeit money.

The Ethridge police department was dispatched on Wednesday to the Dollar Store on HWY 43 with reports of three suspects attempting to use two counterfeit $50 bills and shoplifting.

Officers with the Ethridge police department stated they were assisted in their investigation by deputies from the Lawrence County sheriff's office, where the evidence they obtained at the scene led them to a residence on North Church Street.

After arriving at the residence more evidence was gathered that uncovered a counterfeit operation, and four suspects were arrested on charges ranging from criminal simulation, shoplifting, and fleeing to avoid arrest.
