Reward Offered For Info In Jones Apparel Arsons

Officials with Jones Apparel Group are offering a $5,000 reward for information regarding two arson fires that were set inside the industry in past days, while hundreds of employees worked nearby.

Both fires were set inside the industry’s building on the north side of their 99 Motivation Drive location on Tuesday, July 22.

Fire Investigator Shayne Adams with the Lawrenceburg Fire Department reported late Thursday that the department, “Received a call from Jones Apparel Group…stating that they had extinguished a fire inside the facility that appeared to have been intentionally set. While fire officials were conducting their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the first fire, maintenance workers discovered a second fire had extinguished the fire, then sounded the fire alarm. The facility was evacuated and no injuries occurred due to the quick actions of Jones Apparel employees.”

Adams continued, “After completing the origin and cause investigation, it has been determined that the fires were intentionally set. Fire and police officials want to urge anyone with information about this crime to come forward. These fires endangered the lives of some 230 people, and the person responsible needs to be held accountable.”

Adams points out that the $5,000 reward for information is being offered through the industry itself. In addition, informants may be eligible to receive a reward of up to $1,500 through the Tennessee Arson Hotline. The rewards are being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Anyone with information may remain anonymous by calling the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017. In addition, you may contact the Lawrenceburg Police Department at 762-2276.
