Drug Bust Yields Arrest Of Two

   A drug bust at a Lawrenceburg home last weekend resulted in the arrest of two individuals.

   The operation was a joint operation of drug agents with the Lawrenceburg Police Department and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.

   According to information released late Tuesday, agents executed a search warrant at 893 Spring Avenue, at the home of Rafael Javier Salsedo, who agents report had been released from incarceration on bond in connection with another case involving the distribution of marijuana within Lawrence County.

   During the search agents report finding a safe that contained approximately 7 grams, or 2 ½ ounces, of marijuana that had been packaged in individual bags for resale. Agents report the drug had been packaged in “$10 and $20 bags.”

   In addition to the marijuana agents report seizing illegal prescription medications and items of drug paraphernalia that include postal scales, digital scales, and numerous partially smoked marijuana cigarettes.

   Drug agents indicate that evidence was collected at the scene, and that evidence against Salsedo and Latasha Bumpas will be presented at a later date to a Lawrence County Grand Jury.

   The case remains under investigation at the present time through the Crime Suppression Unit of the sheriff’s department.
