The Lawrenceburg police department is warning the community about a phone scam that is going around.

 

The Lawrenceburg police department stated that several people have received phone calls from a male subject claiming to be a representative of the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

During the phone call the individual is then reportedly asking for donations for camera equipment for officers.

The Lawrenceburg police department stated this person is not affiliated with the department whatsoever this is a scam, and the number that they are calling from is 931-274-7781.

The department is urging the community to be aware of this scam and do not give them money or any personal information over the phone.
