Resident Reports Mailbox Pulled Up And Moved

   A resident of western Lawrence County reported to authorities during the weekend that vandals had pulled up his mailbox, then moved it to another location entirely.

   Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department caught the 3:45 p.m. call to the victim’s home on Redhill Center Road. The resident indicated that sometime between 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:15 a.m. Sunday, someone had pulled his mailbox pole out of the ground and destroyed it.

   The victim told deputies that he had been able to locate his mailbox. He found it abandoned on an unopened section of U.S. Highway 64, behind the Market Basket store.

   There were no known witnesses at the time reports were filed. Investigation into the matter is on-going.
