Teen Reports Belongings Stolen From Campsite

   A young teen reported to law enforcement officials that his belongings were stolen while he was away from his campsite Sunday.

   The 14-year-old reported the incident through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Sunday. He stated that he and some friends had been camping at an unknown location in West Point. They left the campsite between the hours of 1:00 and 7:00 p.m. to ride four wheelers. When they returned, the victim said he discovered his belongings had been taken from inside his tent.

   Missing were the teens Motorola cell phone, wallet, contact lens drops, pocket knife with bone handle, two pairs of Levi jeans, “Van” brand tennis shoes, three shirts, two pairs of shorts, his duffle bag, lifetime hunting license, and his identification. Loss is estimated to be $1,059.00.

   The case remains under investigation at the present time through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone who has information regarding the crime is encouraged to contact the department at 762-3626.
