Authorities Investigate Bloody Domestic Dispute

Law enforcement officials were asked to initiate an investigation into an especially bloody domestic dispute over the weekend.

Lawrenceburg Police Officers report they were dispatched to meet the victim at Quik Mart #30 on North Locust Avenue Saturday. The 29-year-old victim, officers report, had sustained head injuries, had marks to her arms and stomach, had a tooth knocked out, and indicated she had been beaten with a belt.

Officers spoke with the victim at the market before she was transported by ambulance to Crockett hospital. They report they found the suspect, 27-year-old Kristopher Dale Campbell of 1914 Massey Avenue, Lawrenceburg, inside the trunk of his car, at White’s Motors.

When they went to the couple’s residence, officers report finding that blood was spattered throughout the home. They report finding blood, along with the victim’s tooth lying on the floor of the southeast bedroom. There was blood on the wall and inside the closet. In addition, officers report that blood was spattered above the door - all the way to the ceiling, and on the walls inside the closet.

A nylon strap/belt was found lying on a bed in the master bedroom. The sheets and pillow case, officers report, were lying on the floor “soaked in blood.” Pillows on the bed, they indicate, had also been spattered with blood. In addition, officers found blood on the floor on the west side of the bed, on the walls in the hallway, and on the laundry room door.

As a result, Campbell was placed under arrest on charges of domestic assault and transported to the Lawrence County Jail for booking. Once he arrived at the jail, deputies report they discovered he had sustained an injury to his back. He was then transported to Crockett Hospital for examination before being taken back to the jail.
