A Tennesse man tragically died after being infected by a flesh-eating bacteria.

 

Dave Bennett, from Tennessee died last week after contracting a flesh-eating bacteria during a trip to Florida.

According to the victims daughter, Cheryl Wiygul, her father had become ill after the family had been on vacation in Destin Beach, Florida, and they noticed that Bennett had a large sore that had popped up on his back along with red bumps.

Bennett was taken to a Memphis hospital for treatment where the man's health only got worse with him being admitted into ICU after becoming septic.

Tragically Bennett died on July 7th just 48 hours after the man had swam in the waters at the beach.

The daughter stated that her father didn’t have any open cuts or wounds before swimming, but he did have a compromised immune system due to cancer treatments that may have put him at greater risk of contracting the bacteria.
