Republican Chairman Endorses Modlin For County Executive

Lawrence County Republican Chairman Charlie Kincaid has officially endorsed Jim Modlin for County Executive in the August 5 election.

"Jim Modlin is the Republican candidate for County Executive. I am whole heartedly endorsing him for this position, the county’s highest office, for many reasons. It’s not just because he’s the Republican candidate. It’s because he is the most qualified," Kincaid said.

"Jim is a working-class citizen, the same as you and me. He understands the value of a hard-earned dollar, and he knows the importance of maintaining a budget. He will work to reign in excessive spending and borrowing by the county government.  He knows how hard it is for citizens to pay their taxes, and he will work hard to keep our taxes in check."

Kincaid also praised Modlin's desire to attract a wide range of new industry and retail stores to the area.

"Jim sees our families struggling with unemployment. He’s ready to roll up his sleeves and go to work every day for us. He will seek new jobs, he will work to expand local industry, and he will seek new ways to attract industry. Jim also knows that we need a variety of new businesses, not just manufacturing. He will work to bring a diverse group of new companies to our area," Kincaid added.

"Above all, though, Jim is a Christian man. His strong belief in God and his willingness to allow the Lord to lead him daily will be a blessing during his time in office. When he puts his faith in God, the rest will take care of itself."

Kincaid also cited Modlin's conservative and pro-family values in giving him his endorsement.
"Jim is conservative. He is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, and believes in the people’s right to govern themselves. He is a U.S. veteran who strongly believes in the U.S. Constitution,  and in the soverignity of the states."

In closing, Kincaid said the time for a change was now.

"It’s time we put a true Conservative in the County Executive’s office, and Jim is that true Conservative. His leadership will reflect the wholesome values of God, family and country. I urge you to vote for Jim Modlin for County Executive on August 5. Don't forget to vote early from July 16-31."
