Loretto Resident’s Home, Vehicle Vandalized

A Loretto resident sought assistance from law enforcement officers during the weekend after discovering that someone had vandalized both her vehicle and her home.

The victim, age 45, reported that she had discovered the vandalism Saturday morning, but that it had occurred sometime during the previous night.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report that the culprit had cut a screen on the back door of her home. In addition, they found that someone had cut one of her tires.

The victim told deputies that she had been awakened around 1:30 by the barking of her dogs. She said that she looked out, but saw nothing amiss, so she went back to bed.

The victim pointed out that this was not the first such incident to occur at her home. She had recently reported an incident during which gasoline had been poured over her central heat and air unit.

Altogether, the victim estimates that she has incurred approximately $150 in damages. The matter remains under investigation.
