Resident Injured In Fight Involving Baseball Bat

   A Lawrenceburg man sustained injury overnight Wednesday after being struck repeatedly with a baseball bat during a fight in his front yard.

   Lawrence Central Dispatch sent Lawrenceburg Police Officers to intervene after receiving a call regarding a fight at a home on Park Street. The victim, age 30, told officers that he had been sitting on his porch when a male and female acquaintance came to his home. The victim said the male “wanted to fight” over his (victim’s) girlfriend.

   The victim reported while he and the male were fighting on the ground, the female picked up an aluminum baseball bat and repeatedly struck him on head.

   Officers noted that the man had sustained injuries, including a cut above the left eye another above the left ear.

   The victim indicated he did not wish to pursue legal action at this time.
