Lawrence Resident Jailed In Giles On Drug Fraud Charges

   A Lawrenceburg man has been incarcerated in Giles County on drug fraud charges.

   Pulaski Police Chief John Dickey reports that the crime came to light on Wednesday. Dickey’s department was notified of a possible instance of fraud by officials with a Pulaski pharmacy.

   Officials allege that Lawrenceburg resident Steven Andrew Ayers, age 45, posed as a physician in order call in fake prescriptions by telephone. Ayers was taken into custody after he came to the pharmacy and attempted to obtain the drugs.

   Ayers was incarcerated through the Giles County Jail on two counts of prescription fraud. He was being held in lieu of a bond of $10,000.
