Drugs, Liquor, Cash And Vehicles Seized During Drug Search

A search of an Iron City home has lead authorities to seek indictments against one man on multiple drug charges.

Lawrenceburg Police Chief Terry Shay issued a press release on Friday, indicating that indictments are being sought against 46-year-old Steven Dale Purser, of 124 South Roberson Road, Iron City.

Shay indicates that a five-month investigation lead to the issuance of a search warrant of Purser’s home. The search warrant was served on June 27 by members of the Lawrenceburg Police Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, 22nd Judicial District Drug Task Force, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

During the search, Shay reports that in excess of five pounds of marijuana was seized along with twenty-two jars of untaxed liquor and $23,000 in cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales. A 1999 Chevrolet truck was seized along with a 1994 Ford Ranger, 1988 Suzuki Samurai, Cub Cadet zero-turn mower, utility trailer, and other items believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales.

According to Shay, evidence against Purser will be presented to the next session of the Lawrence County Grand Jury. They will seek charges of possession of marijuana for the purpose of resale, sale of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of untaxed liquor.
