Gun Comes Into Play During Dispute Over Dog

A dispute over a dog turned heated Monday evening, with one of those involved allegedly brandishing a firearm and making reference to gang connections.

Lawrenceburg Police Officers became involved in the situation just after 11:00 p.m. when they were dispatched to the 500 block of Second Street.

A resident of the area told officers he and a man he knows only as “Josh” argued earlier in the day about a dog he had sold to Josh. He said Josh returned later and told him he owed him “money or dope” for the dog. At one point, the victim said Josh “racked the slide back” and began making mention of his affiliation with the Gangster Disciples, then pointed the gun at him.

It was at this time, the victim said, that a second male became involved in the argument. He stated that he then placed a 911 call for assistance, and the duo fled, leaving the area in a silver Pontiac.

Two juvenile witnesses on the scene also reported seeing the weapon.

The male brandishing the weapon is described as a mixed race male, approximately six foot tall, 175 pounds and in his 20s. The man is believed to reside in Pulaski. At the time he was wearing green shorts and white tennis shoes. Anyone who has information regarding the man’s identity or whereabouts is encouraged to contact the police department at 762-2276.
